If you happen to have seen any of these guitars please let us know. All of them have been reported stolen and we have case numbers. If you have purchased one of them from Craigslist or elsewhere we'd love to hear from you. Please know that we know you were not the one who stole it from us. We've all bought and sold stuff that way ourselves. That said, we'd like to talk to you about the possibility of buying our stuff back if you paid for it.
More than that, if you know or have seen this guy we would LOVE(!) to meet him.
Now, the guitars. There's a lot of them. We'll start with the ones we really miss:
This is a 1963 Epiphone Wilshire. Serial No. 140964
The original finish has been oversprayed so the guitar
looks a lot newer than it is.
This is a 1965 Epiphone Coronet. Serial No. 553381
Kinda the younger brother to the guitar above.
Here's a 1980 Gibson E/2 Explorer. Serial No. 81570025
With a Kahler. We're very sad to have lost this one.
2007 Rickenbacker Dakota 650D Serial No. 07-28484
We weren't even done working on this one. Might still be missing a saddle...
1967 Harmony Rocket.
Not terribly uncommon but very cool and we'd like it back.
Danelectro U2 (90’s) Blueburst w/ Red and Blue Pinstriping
(Including pictures of stick figures doing it) - You'll know this one if you see it.
1978 Ibanez CN100- Black W/ White Binding, Bolt on Neck. Serial No. G780609
Epiphone EBM-4 BASS-Transparent Red. PJ Config. Serial No. S93081147

Just a cheapy but it's mine Dammit!
Hard Luck Kings Spider- Reverse Firebird Style. Serial No. 123005
There are a few guitars that hadn't yet made it to our website so we don't have photos of them. Here they are:
2011 Fender Blacktop Jaguar. Black w/ Rosewood Fretboard. Serial No. MX11237286
1999 Fender Stratocaster Candy Apple Red w/ White Pickguard. Serial. N996249

Univox Lectra 1970F Solidbody Violin Bass w/ Brown Stain Finish and Gold Hardware. Serial No. 210001
Well, that's it. A whole bunch of guitars and a whole bunch of time spent repairing the damage that this guy has done. I'd like to have a few words with him about that.
Please let us know if you've seen our stuff or if you think you might know who this guy is.
Thanks,
Jason
Wow. I hope they catch this loser.
ReplyDeleteAt least the prick has good taste. Those epi's are treasures.
ReplyDeleteI tried to post this yesterday but it didn't go through. There is a similar Harmony listed on Craigslist by a pawnshop. Maybe he pawned it before you filed the police report, or maybe it's just a different one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jesse. I checked out that ad. It's not ours but thank you. I am sure this is how we're going to catch this guy!
DeleteThanks again for that suggestion Jesse. We've changed the settings to allow anonymous comments.
DeleteShared in Bend. Hope you guys nail this jerk.
ReplyDeleteGuy looks like someone I went to high school with but he lives in Maine. Hope you find and nail this scumbag. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteShared. Sorry. :(
ReplyDeleteShared in Tacoma...hope the asshole(s) are caught and you get your equipment back...
ReplyDeleteYou probably already know this, but - Vancouver, WA has significantly less strict rules concerning resale in pawn shops, as do shops outside of Portland city limits... Supposedly(!) that's where a lot of my stolen tools wound up... Might be worth giving some of the shop owners a heads up... The guy who owns Briz Loan has a butt-load of musical gear. He might be someone to alert to this... Dang. Good luck - you guys don't suck...
ReplyDeleteomg i am so sorry to see. all those beautiful guitars lost to some stupid drug guy. i hope somehow you get them back. i will keep a eye out for sure. peace, ian

ReplyDeleteshared on Talkbass.com !
ReplyDeleteJason, never heard of your shop, so when a FB friend shared, had to research to see where you were. I'm in Seattle, so I'll keep an eye out and share. Maybe add "Northwest" or some location info in your text or title to help with speedy-yet-accurate viral sharing? Hoping for the best!
ReplyDeleteAlso, holy crap what a hassle to post that little comment. Create a profile, and in doing so, erased my message a couple times. Almost gave up, but wanted to be helpful. If there's a way to enable public/anonymous comments, now is the time. You might miss some valuable info if people need to work too hard to give you a tip.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tigerlily for the lookout and for the advice. I don't spend a lot of time on Blogger so I'm not real sure how to change the settings but will look into it. I am amazed at the response we've been getting about this!
ReplyDeleteMSCC #14-83614 & EPCC #14-85464 these are case #s for a guy caught on camera doing cars and locker rooms in SE. Similar build/look to your guy. There are good still shots of his face with these cases. Can email them to u if u like. Just drop the e in reply.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'd love to check them out. Any helpful information can be sent to centaurguitar@gmail.com.
DeleteThieves suck. I had my house broken into and 7 guitars stolen. Luckily, dude was enough of a moron where he sold all of them dirt cheap to a same pawn shop. Pawn owner was smart enough to catch him on camera as he knew the gear was hot and was just waiting for someone to come looking for it. This was in Spokane, WA about 13 years ago. Pawn shops have pretty good system of exchanging information for a stolen gear where you can inform one and they will pass the info along to other pawn shops. That's how I found mine and got it back and the thief did jail time for breaking and entering and stealing. Also, it's true that WA doesn't do lots of background check when you're selling or pawning your stuff so that's where I would look. Good luck guys. Hope you get it back and dirtbag gets what's coming to him
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yeah, Portland's regulations are pretty tight but I know once you're outside the city limits it can be like the wild west out there. We're hoping that with so many people seeing this guys face and seeing the guitars he stole we'll get him and the instruments!
DeleteIs it just one guy? The pics look like 2 different people.
ReplyDeleteWe're sure more than one person was involved in each of the incidents. We suspect the same couple of guys each time though.
DeleteI've posted on Gresham Guitar's Facebook page and we are keeping our eyes open!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot!
DeleteShared in the Ithaca, New York area. Hope you get them back.
ReplyDeleteAny word? I just saw this on AGF and just blows me away someone doesn't know this dirtbag. Maybe a local tv station can do a story and post his pic.
