Centaur Guitar Has Been Robbed!!

Well folks, I wish I could say that this was a joke but it is not. We've lost many guitars and a lot of sleep over the past several weeks. We were broken in to a couple weekends in a row and it has really set us back. We're hoping that our fine friends in the local and regional guitar community might be able to help us out. I know that some of you have already heard about this but we've decided to air this out in the blogosphere in hopes of recovering some of our instruments and maybe even finding the guy who stole them.

If you happen to have seen any of these guitars please let us know. All of them have been reported stolen and we have case numbers. If you have purchased one of them from Craigslist or elsewhere we'd love to hear from you. Please know that we know you were not the one who stole it from us. We've all bought and sold stuff that way ourselves. That said, we'd like to talk to you about the possibility of buying our stuff back if you paid for it.

More than that, if you know or have seen this guy we would LOVE(!) to meet him.

Now, the guitars. There's a lot of them. We'll start with the ones we really miss:

This is a 1963 Epiphone Wilshire. Serial No. 140964
The original finish has been oversprayed so the guitar
looks a lot newer than it is.

This is a 1965 Epiphone Coronet. Serial No. 553381
Kinda the younger brother to the guitar above.

Here's a 1980 Gibson E/2 Explorer. Serial No. 81570025
With a Kahler. We're very sad to have lost this one.

2007 Rickenbacker Dakota 650D Serial No. 07-28484
We weren't even done working on this one. Might still be missing a saddle...

1967 Harmony Rocket.
Not terribly uncommon but very cool and we'd like it back.

Danelectro U2 (90’s) Blueburst w/ Red and Blue Pinstriping
(Including pictures of stick figures doing it) - You'll know this one if you see it.

1978 Ibanez CN100- Black W/ White Binding, Bolt on Neck. Serial No. G780609

Epiphone EBM-4 BASS-Transparent Red. PJ Config. Serial No. S93081147

Danelectro Dead-On '67 Hornet- Chartreuse Finish. Serial No. 09DO67G01677

Jackson Dinky DKMG. Satin Metallic w/ Super Strat Pickup Config. Serial No. 9708285

Rogue LX200B Fretless w/ Aftermarket Musicman Style Pickup.
Budget fretless but I want it back!

Ibanez ICX120BK Small Bodied Bolt-On Iceman.Serial No. W512540
Just a cheapy but it's mine Dammit!

Hard Luck Kings Spider- Reverse Firebird Style. Serial No. 123005

There are a few guitars that hadn't yet made it to our website so we don't have photos of them. Here they are:

2011 Fender Blacktop Jaguar. Black w/ Rosewood Fretboard. Serial No. MX11237286

1999 Fender Stratocaster Candy Apple Red w/ White Pickguard. Serial. N996249

1989 Fender Strat Plus- Pewter Finish w/ Mahogany Striping on Lower Bout. Serial No. E910101

Univox Lectra 1970F Solidbody Violin Bass w/ Brown Stain Finish and Gold Hardware. Serial No. 210001

Well, that's it. A whole bunch of guitars and a whole bunch of time spent repairing the damage that this guy has done. I'd like to have a few words with him about that.

Please let us know if you've seen our stuff or if you think you might know who this guy is.

Thanks,
Jason

A Heartfelt Thank You!

Ladies and gentlemen,

We here at Centaur would like to extend our deepest and most sincere thanks to all of the friends and volunteers who came together last weekend to make Centaurpalooza a huge success. I say this every year and I repeat it every chance I get: This event would not happen without the effort and encouragement put forth by a small and dedicated crew of volunteers! With that in mind I would like to say thank you to Jody, Chris, Peg, Rich, Jerome, Mike, Linda, Erik, Jimmy, Mike, Greg, and Becky for making this happen this year.

I would also like to thank the 37 bands who played this year's rock and roll extravaganza! Yeah, you heard right! 37 bands! How's that for local music! These guys all rocked out for a couple beers and a good time. I encourage you to seek them out one by one, buy their cd's and t-shirts, and tell them thanks for keeping local music alive and well in our fair city!

For those of you interested in being a part of next year's Centaurpalooza (Zafino and the Portland City Noise Guy permitting) please contact Jody. You can find her here: Centaur Guitar Booking

Gear Update October 18th!

Just wanted to let y'all know that we just posted a couple of very cool "new" used pedals on our website. Don't see a lot of used Maxon or Subdecay effects so this is a good chance to scoop up some like new stuff for a good price!

Used Subdecay Noise Box Harmonic Fuzz
For those of you not in the know, Subdecay has been cranking out a stellar line of effects built right here in Oregon for going on ten years now!

We've been carrying their full line for several years and can tell you first hand, these things are as rugged as they are unique!

Subdecay likens the Noise box to a "robot stuck in a bee hive" and this is a pretty spot on description. Just a mess of synthy, saturated, fuzzy madness! Very cool locally made pedal

Maxon on the other hand churns their pedals out across the Pacific in the land of the rising sun and they've had there hands in the effects ring since the very beginning! They developed a line of effects in the early 70's that wound up being licensed to the Hoshino Trading Company. You know... the Hoshino Trading Company. Everybody's heard of those guys right? Alright, they're the worldwide distributors of Ibanez! Ibanez, got it?! There's a reason Maxon's 9-Series effects look so damn familiar!

The OD-9 Pro+ is like a super juiced up version of a pedal that rhymes with "Boob Dreamer"

Used Maxon OD-9 Pro+
